Cookie Policy

Effective Date: 1 May 2026 Last Updated: 1 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Global Ink Alliance Ltd ("GIA") uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on our websites (getgia.app, globalinkalliance.com, learn.getgia.app) and in our mobile application.

This Policy is part of our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website.

localStorage and sessionStorage are similar technologies that store data on your device under the website's namespace. Under EU and UK law (notably the ePrivacy Directive and PECR), these are treated the same way as cookies for consent purposes.

We use the term "Cookies" below to refer to all such technologies.

2. The Cookies We Use

GIA uses minimal Cookies. We have intentionally avoided third-party analytics, marketing, and advertising trackers on launch.

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These keep the Services running and do not require consent:

Name Purpose Duration
gia_settings_profile Stores your profile data and preferences Persistent (until deleted)
gia_session_token Authenticates you to our servers Session / up to 30 days
gia_locale Remembers your language (e.g. RU/EN) 1 year
Cookie consent record Stores your cookie preferences 1 year
CSRF / security tokens Prevent cross-site request forgery Session

2.2 Functional

These remember your choices to improve your experience. They are on by default but you can clear them.

Name Purpose Duration
gia_letstalk Caches public profile comments you've engaged with 90 days
gia_fixed_deals Remembers deals where addresses have been mutually exchanged Persistent
gia_deal_cal Caches your deal calendar locally Persistent
gia_invite_onboarded Remembers if you completed an invite onboarding flow Persistent
gia_admin_match_metrics (Admins only) caches match-maker filter preferences Persistent

2.3 Analytics, Marketing, Advertising

None at launch. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, or similar third-party trackers.

If we add analytics in the future, we will ask for your explicit consent in advance and update this Cookie Policy.

2.4 Third-Party Cookies

A small number of cookies are set by third parties when their content is shown to you. We use only the following third parties:

Provider When Purpose
YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) If you watch a free educational video embedded from YouTube Video playback
OpenStreetMap (Leaflet tiles) When you open a map Map tile delivery
Stripe On learn.getgia.app checkout pages only Payment processing & fraud detection
Apple Pay / Google Pay (where supported) Only when you actively use these payment methods Payment processing

We do not embed:

3. The Cookie Banner

The first time you visit a GIA website from the EU, UK, or other regions where consent is required, you will see a cookie banner with two options:

You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the website footer. Inside the mobile app, similar controls live in Settings → Privacy → Cookies.

If you visit from a region without a consent requirement, the banner is not shown.

4. Mobile App Storage

The mobile app uses local device storage (analogous to localStorage in a browser) to:

This is strictly necessary for the app to function. You can clear it by deleting the app or by using Settings → Delete Account.

5. Push Notification Subscription

If you opt in to push notifications, your push subscription endpoint is stored on our servers. This is not a cookie but is described here for transparency.

You can disable push notifications in your device system settings or in Settings → Notifications.

6. Do Not Track

We respect Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT) signals where they apply. We do not run any tracking that GPC/DNT would currently disable, but we will continue to honour these signals if our practices change.

7. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser

You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, alert you when cookies are set, or delete cookies after your session. Steps differ by browser:

Disabling all cookies will prevent you from logging in to GIA. Disabling functional cookies will not break the site but may make it less convenient.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Policy if we change which Cookies we use. The "Last Updated" date will reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be announced via banner with at least 14 days' notice.
