Health & Aftercare Disclaimer
Effective Date: 1 May 2026 Last Updated: 1 May 2026
This Disclaimer applies to the Health and Aftercare features of the GIA mobile application and websites operated by Global Ink Alliance Ltd ("GIA").
By using these features you confirm that you have read and understood this Disclaimer.
1. Not Medical Advice
The Health and Aftercare features provide general reminders, educational suggestions, and informational content about caring for fresh tattoos. They do not constitute:
- Medical advice
- Medical diagnosis
- Medical treatment
- A doctor-patient relationship
- A substitute for professional medical care
GIA is not a medical provider. Our staff are not licensed physicians, nurses, dermatologists, or pharmacists. The information shown in the app has been compiled from publicly available sources and the experience of professional tattoo artists; it is not personalized to your medical history, allergies, medications, or skin condition.
In plain English: This is a reminder app and a tip sheet, not a clinic. We can tell you "don't pick at the scab" and "moisturize twice a day". We cannot tell you whether your specific reaction is normal.
2. When to Seek Medical Attention Immediately
Stop using the reminders and see a qualified health professional if you experience:
- Increasing redness or swelling beyond the first 48 hours
- Pus or unusual discharge
- Fever, chills, or feeling unwell
- Severe or worsening pain
- Spreading rash or hives (possible allergic reaction to ink)
- Streaks of redness moving away from the tattoo site
- Hot, hardened skin
- Any symptom that worries you
In many countries you can also call a non-emergency medical line:
- UK: NHS 111
- Germany: 116 117
- EU general: 112 (emergency) / national equivalents
- United States: call your doctor or 911 if severe
If symptoms are severe, call emergency services in your country.
3. We Do Not Collect Symptom or Clinical Data
To protect your health privacy, GIA deliberately does not collect:
- Symptoms you experience
- Photographs of healing skin
- Allergy or medication information
- Medical history
- Any other clinical detail
The only health-related data we store is:
- The general body zone of your tattoo (e.g. "forearm")
- The date of your session
- The reminder schedule you opt into
This means we cannot help you assess whether your healing is normal — that is a job for a medical professional.
4. No Liability for Outcomes
GIA assumes no liability for:
- Skin reactions, allergic responses, or infections
- Outcomes that fall short of your expectations
- Decisions you make based on information shown in the app
- The conduct of your tattoo artist or studio
- Products you used during aftercare (creams, soaps, dressings)
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you waive claims against GIA arising from your use of the Health and Aftercare features. This Section does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by GIA's gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
5. Special Categories of Data — A Note on Privacy
Under Article 9 of GDPR, "data concerning health" is a special category subject to stricter rules. We have designed Aftercare to avoid processing special-category data wherever possible.
If you accidentally enter symptom information through a chat or comment, please be aware:
- That information may be stored as part of the chat record
- We will not use it to make decisions about you
- You can delete it at any time, or request its deletion via privacy@globalinkalliance.com
6. Crisis Support
If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, please reach out to a confidential helpline:
- United Kingdom: Samaritans — 116 123 (free, 24/7)
- Germany: Telefonseelsorge — 0800 111 0 111
- Netherlands: 113 Zelfmoordpreventie — 0800 0113
- Poland: Telefon Zaufania — 116 123
- Turkey: İntihar Önleme Derneği — 182
- United States: 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — 988
- EU general: 116 123
These are independent organizations. GIA is not affiliated with them but provides their numbers so help is accessible.
