Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains the rules for refunds on digital products and subscriptions purchased from Global Ink Alliance Ltd ("GIA", "we", "us").
This Policy is part of our Terms of Service and is governed by EU consumer protection law (Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU), the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and the rules of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
In plain English: If you buy a subscription or course on GIA, here's when you can get your money back.

2. Web Purchases — 14-Day Cooling-Off Right (EU / UK)
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to cancel a purchase of digital content within 14 calendar days of the date of purchase.
2.1 The Default 14-Day Right
You may cancel for any reason within 14 days. We refund the full purchase price within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice, using the same payment method you used to buy.
2.2 The Important Exception for Digital Content
Under Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive, you lose the 14-day right when:
- The supply of digital content has begun, AND
- You expressly consented to begin supply before the 14 days expired, AND
- You acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal.
At checkout, when you buy a course, AI generation pack, or other digital content, you will see a clearly labelled checkbox:
"I want immediate access to this content and I understand that by ticking this box I waive my 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive."
If you tick the box and we begin delivery, the 14-day right ends immediately. If you don't tick the box, we won't deliver the content for 14 days, and your right is preserved during that window.
2.3 Subscriptions
For subscription products on the web (such as a future GIA Team / Partnership tier sold via Stripe):
- You may cancel auto-renewal at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- If you cancel during the 14-day cooling-off period and have not waived the right above, we refund the full first payment.
- If you cancel after using the subscription substantively, we may charge for the proportion of the service consumed, in line with Article 14(4)(b) of the Directive.
2.4 Promotional or Gifted Stripe Trials
We may provide promotional or gifted Stripe trials, including extended trials such as a 365-day launch gift.
For these trials:
- You are not charged during the trial period.
- Stripe Checkout will ask you to provide a payment method before the trial starts.
- The checkout page will disclose the trial length, the renewal price, and the billing period.
- Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts into a paid auto-renewing subscription and Stripe attempts to charge your saved payment method.
- If you cancel before the trial ends, no renewal charge is made.
- If you cancel after the first paid renewal, the cancellation stops future renewals. Refunds for the paid period are handled under Sections 2 and 3 of this Policy and applicable consumer law.
A manually granted free subscription in GIA admin is not the same as a Stripe trial: it may expire automatically and does not create future automatic billing.
2.5 How to Cancel a Web Purchase or Stripe Subscription
Email privacy@globalinkalliance.com with:
- Your registered email address
- The order ID (visible in your purchase confirmation email)
- A short statement: "I wish to cancel and request a refund."
We confirm receipt within 2 business days and refund (where due) within 14 days.
If your web subscription was created through Stripe, you may also use the Stripe customer portal link available in your GIA account to cancel auto-renewal, update payment details, and view invoices.
3. Refunds Outside the 14-Day Right
Outside the cooling-off period, refunds for web purchases are at GIA's discretion. We may grant a refund if:
- The product was unavailable or substantively defective
- We mistakenly charged you twice
- You experienced an account-level error (e.g. you bought a course you already owned through a separate plan)
We will not typically refund:
- Courses you have substantially watched
- AI generations you have already created
- Subscription periods you have already used
4. Refunds for Apple App Store Purchases
All purchases through the iOS app are processed by Apple. To request a refund:
- Visit
reportaproblem.apple.com - Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find the GIA charge and click "Report a Problem"
- Choose "Request a refund" and follow the prompts
Refund decisions are at Apple's sole discretion. Apple's refund policy and timelines apply. GIA cannot refund App Store purchases on Apple's behalf.
To cancel an auto-renewing subscription on iOS:
- Settings (iPhone) → Your Apple ID → Subscriptions → GIA → Cancel
If you accept an App Store free trial, introductory offer, promotional offer, or offer code, Apple will show the trial length, renewal price, and renewal date before you confirm. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, Apple may convert the trial into a paid auto-renewing subscription under Apple's terms. GIA cannot cancel or refund App Store purchases on Apple's behalf.
5. Refunds for Google Play Purchases
All purchases through the Android app are processed by Google. To request a refund:
- Visit
play.google.com - Go to "Order History"
- Find the GIA charge and click "Request a refund"
Google's refund policy and timelines apply. GIA cannot refund Google Play purchases on Google's behalf.
To cancel an auto-renewing subscription on Android:
- Google Play app → Subscriptions → GIA → Cancel
If you accept a Google Play free trial, introductory offer, promotional offer, or subscription promo code, Google Play will show the trial length, renewal price, and billing period before you confirm. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, Google Play may convert the trial into a paid auto-renewing subscription under Google's terms. GIA cannot cancel or refund Google Play purchases on Google's behalf.
6. Promoted / Boosted Profile Placements
If you pay to Pin 📌 or Boost 🚀 your profile in the Network feed:
- Refunds are not granted once the placement starts running
- If we remove your placement for breach of the AUP, no refund is due
- If we suffer a service outage that prevents your placement from running, we will extend the placement by the affected period or refund the affected portion at our discretion
7. Educator Course Sales (Future)
When educators sell paid courses on learn.getgia.app:
- Buyers receive the same 14-day cooling-off right described in Section 2 (with the same waiver mechanism)
- Refunds reduce the amount paid out to the educator under the Educator Content License Agreement
- Educators are responsible for the substantive quality of their content within the bounds of our moderation
8. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us first, we may:
- Suspend your account pending resolution
- Decline to provide further service
- Recover associated chargeback fees from any unpaid balance
We always prefer to resolve disputes directly. Email privacy@globalinkalliance.com first.
9. Currency and Fees
Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original purchase. We refund the full purchase amount; we do not refund:
- Currency-conversion losses imposed by your bank
- Fees imposed by Apple or Google on App Store / Play purchases
10. Children
If a person under 18 has made a purchase using your account or device without authorization, contact privacy@globalinkalliance.com. For Apple and Google purchases, also contact the relevant store for the parent / family-purchase reversal procedure.
